Future Road Construction Projects

Road construction, reconstruction, overlay, and maintenance in the City of Enid is divided between three departments: Engineering, Stormwater and Roadway Maintenance, and Utility Maintenance.

Engineering Department Projects

The Engineering Department is responsible for construction, reconstruction, and heavy maintenance activities. These are included in the Arterial Street Program and the Local Street Program.

The arterial streets are improved through widening and resurfacing based on the comprehensive plan, the long term transportation plan, and traffic patterns.
The local streets improvements are major reconstruction projects that are based on suggestions from the elected officials, input from Public Works, and traffic patterns. These projects are budgeted annually through Commission action.
