NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

REGARDING DEVELOPMENT OF THE FY26 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN OF ACTIVITIES FOR

HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES TO BE SUBMITTED TO

THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT

TO ALL INTERESTED AGENCIES, GROUPS, AND INDIVIDUALS:

The City of Enid invites and encourages all interested citizens, agencies, non-profit organizations, and other interested parties to attend a series of public meetings and hearings, the second of which is scheduled for:

March 12, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers located in the City Administration Building, 401 W. Owen K. Garriott, Enid, OK.

The purpose of this meeting is to allow the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding Commission to hear oral presentations from organizations that have submitted CDBG applications for FY26 and to give the public an opportunity to provide input on FY26 activities. The City of Enid will submit the Annual Action Plan of activities to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in May 2026.

The City of Enid encourages all interested citizens, agencies, non-profit organizations, and other interested parties to attend the public hearing pursuant to Section 570.486, Subpart I of the CFR and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. If special accommodations are needed, please contact the CDBG Department by March 5, 2026. The City of Enid CDBG Program strives to:

  • Address obstacles to meeting underserved needs
  • Foster decent housing, public housing improvements, and resident initiatives
  • Evaluate and reduce lead-based paint hazards
  • Reduce the number of persons below the poverty line
  • Develop institutional structures
  • Enhance coordination between public and private housing and social service agencies

Fair Housing

Complaints

Federal law prohibits housing discrimination based on your race, color, national origin, religion, sex, family status, or disability. If you have been trying to buy or rent a home or apartment and you believe your rights have been violated, you can file a fair housing complaint. You have one year after an alleged violation to file a complaint with HUD, but it is important to file it as soon as possible. Contact the Fair Housing Coordinator for assistance. Did you know all dwellings are required to be structurally sound and all electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation and other facilities in good and safe working order? The City of Enid is committed to the health, safety and welfare of its citizens. If you are a tenant and have concerns about the safety of your home or apartment we offer free home inspections to identify potential hazards and repair needs should they be detected. For more information contact the Code Department at 580-616-7213 and speak with one of our inspectors Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
