To request a copy of an incident or collision report, visit Records in the Police Department lobby at 301 W. Owen K. Garriott Rd. Records is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding City holidays.

Complete a request form for the report you need. All reports are redacted before release.

Collision reports

During the first 60 days after a collision, only people involved in the collision may obtain the collision report. After 60 days, any person may request the report.

Fees and payment

Reports cost 25 cents per page. Records accepts cash, checks, credit cards, and debit cards. American Express is not accepted.

To request the release of a vehicle impounded by the Enid Police Department, visit the Police Department in person at 301 W. Owen K. Garriott Rd. An EPD representative will review the required documents and, when appropriate, sign an impound release form.

Registered vehicle owners

A vehicle may be released to the registered owner or to a person with written, notarized authorization from the registered owner.

Registered vehicle owners should bring:

• A valid driver license
• Current vehicle registration
• Proof that all license, registration, title fees, and penalties have been paid in full
• Proof of insurance, or an affidavit that the vehicle will not be operated on public roadways
• Vehicle title, purchase agreement, or sales contract, when applicable
• Written, notarized authorization if the person retrieving the vehicle is not the registered owner

Lien holders

• A typed lien form
• A notarized bill of sale covering the vehicle
• A completed save and hold harmless agreement
• Proof of financial responsibility showing a net worth greater than $50,000, or a surety bond worth at least twice the value of the vehicle being released

If a lien is not listed on the vehicle registration, EPD cannot consider the lien valid and will not release the vehicle to the lien holder. Lending institutions insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation are presumed to meet the financial-responsibility requirement. Other lien holders must provide an affidavit that clearly establishes their net worth.

Other parties claiming an interest

• A court order of replevin is required for other parties claiming an interest in a vehicle.
• Insurance companies must provide a valid salvage title or a valid lien and notarized bill of sale.

Who may retrieve property

• The verified owner of the property; or
• A person with written, notarized authorization from the owner.

Firearms

Firearms may be released only to an owner who is legally eligible to possess a firearm.
