Organizations Unite Under Mayor Mason to Coordinate Tornado Response Efforts in Enid

In response to last night’s tornado, several organizations have come together at the direction of Mayor David Mason to coordinate relief and recovery efforts across the Enid community.

Participating organizations include the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce, Cherokee Strip Community Foundation, Chisholm Trail Expo Center, Salvation Army, United Way of Enid and Northwest Oklahoma, Red Cross, and the Garfield County Health Department. These groups are working collaboratively to ensure an organized and effective response for those affected by the storm.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost property and those who were injured,” city officials stated. “We are grateful to report that no lives were lost.”

Coordinated Donation Efforts
All supplies must be delivered to the Chisholm Trail Expo Center (111 W Purdue Ave), west side of the pavilion. Current needs include utility gloves, buckets, shovels, and other clean-up supplies. Household cleaning supplies are not needed at this time. Please do not bring clothing or household goods.

Donation hours are Friday, April 24 until 7:00 PM; Saturday, April 25 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM; and Sunday, April 26 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Needs will be updated as they are identified.

Food Donations
All food donations will be coordinated through a single point of contact to ensure proper timing, distribution, and food safety for residents, volunteers, and first responders. This includes businesses providing prepared meals and community groups organizing food donations.

To coordinate food contributions, please contact Captain David Brittle with the Salvation Army at 580-275-8442.

Monetary Donations
Monetary donations remain one of the most effective ways to support both immediate relief and long-term recovery.

To ensure funds are used locally and flexibly, donations are encouraged through the Cherokee Strip Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund or the United Way of Enid and Northwest Oklahoma.

Volunteers
Manpower and volunteer needs are still being assessed. At this time, individuals are asked not to arrive on-site without prior coordination. Volunteer opportunities will be communicated by the City of Enid as specific needs are identified.

Further updates will be provided as response efforts continue.
