Nighttime U.S. Highway 81 Road Work

WHAT: ODOT concrete road work and traffic detector loop installation

WHEN: Monday, June 2nd through Thursday, June 5th (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.)

Monday, June 9th through Friday, June 13th (7a.m. to 5 p.m.)

WHERE: U.S. Highway 81 at Poplar Avenue, Willow Road, and Purdue Avenue

WHY: Roadwork to improve vehicular travel in Enid

DETAILS: ODOT announced that contractors will begin sawing and sealing the intersections of U.S. Highway 81 at Poplar Avenue, Willow Road, and Purdue Avenue. This work will occur from 8pm to 6am starting June 2nd and ending June 5th.

During this time, U.S. Highway 81 will be reduced to single lane traffic. Traffic movements for side streets will be impacted for short periods of time.

In addition, contractors will reinstall the traffic detector loops along US 81 from June 9th to June 13th.

This work will require intermittent lane closures near the intersections of Poplar Avenue, Willow Road, and Purdue Avenue.

As always, the construction will be contingent on weather.
