New Walking Trail Brings More Outdoor Fun to South Oakwood Road
ENID, OK (September 25, 2025) –
The City of Enid is thrilled to announce the construction of a new walking trail along South Oakwood Road, creating a safe and scenic route for residents, visitors, and families to enjoy.
WHAT: Construction of a new walking trail.
WHY: To provide a safe, enjoyable, and accessible path for walkers, joggers, and families while enhancing community connectivity and recreation opportunities.
WHERE: South Oakwood Road, from South La Mesa Drive to West Randolph Avenue
WHEN: Monday, September 29 through Monday, October 27, 2025
DETAILS: There will be an intermittent northbound lane closure along South Oakwood Road to allow construction. Motorists will have single-lane access and are encouraged to follow posted traffic control signs and drive with extreme caution. Construction will proceed Monday, September 29, weather permitting.
This new trail is part of the City’s commitment to improving recreation, safety, and quality of life for all Enid residents. Once complete, it will be a vibrant addition to the community’s walking and outdoor spaces.
