Lane Closure on South Van Buren Street for a Stormwater Pipe Repair

The southbound lane of South Van Buren Street and the eastbound lane of West Wabash Avenue will close starting Monday, Nov. 9, while crews repair a stormwater pipe. Work is set to finish by Monday, Nov. 23, weather permitting.

Where the lanes are closed

On South Van Buren Street (U.S. 81), the southbound lane closes from just north of West Owen K. Garriott Road (U.S. 412) to just south of West Wabash Avenue. On West Wabash Avenue, the eastbound lane closes where it meets Van Buren Street.

What to do when you drive through

• Follow traffic control signs and the lane markings in the work zone.
• Slow down and watch for crews and equipment.
• Plan extra time, or use another route if you can.
