2026 Bob Dense

Robert W. “Bob” Dense was a longtime Enid businessman, community leader, and volunteer whose service left a lasting mark on the community.

Bob served as president and CEO of Dense Mechanical Contractors for more than 50 years. He used his success in business to support local organizations and help strengthen Enid through civic involvement, volunteer service, and community leadership.

His leadership included service as chairman of the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce board, chairman of the St. Mary’s Mercy Hospital Board of Trustees, and board member for organizations including the Denny Price Family YMCA, Enid Public School Foundation, Enid Economic Development Coalition, and Enid Symphony Association. He was also active with the Enid Rotary Club for many years, serving as its president in 1974–75.

Bob’s service extended to many parts of the community. He supported the United Way of Enid, served on the City of Enid Mechanical Board, volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, mentored boys through Hope Outreach, volunteered at Carver Early Childhood Center, and helped with construction of the Adventure Quest play area at Leonardo’s Discovery Warehouse.

He also gave his time to local churches, education, heritage, and the arts. Bob was recognized as a Pillar of the Plains honoree in 2010 and was known for encouraging the Enid spirit of volunteering and community involvement.

Bob Dense’s many contributions to business, service, and civic life make him a meaningful honoree in the City of Enid Walk of Fame.
