2005 Mike Cooper

Michael Cooper began his career with Southwestern Bell / AT&T in 1974 in Tulsa, OK, where he served in a wide variety of assignments which included State and Federal Regulatory & Government Relations, Network Operations, Network Operations Staff and External Affairs in a variety of locations throughout the AT&T territories. In 2006 Michael retired from AT&T and founded Cooper Public Strategies located in Broken Arrow, OK. Prior to his retirement, Michael served as Mayor for the City of Enid, Oklahoma from 1995-1999.

Cooper is currently active in a wide array of Oklahoma organizations serving as Chairman of the Governor’s Oklahoma Military Strategic Planning Commission. (2002-2018) Mike also serves as President for the National Association of Defense Communities (ADC). (2014-2018) He also served as Chairman of the Board for the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Enid/Garfield County Development Alliance, Chairman of the Enid Joint Industrial Foundation and Foundation Board Member of Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Mike further serves on the Greater Tulsa Regional Chamber of Commerce board, Oklahoma Better Business Bureau board, Tulsa Community College Foundation, Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce board, Broken Arrow Economic Development board, (Vice President), Northeastern Oklahoma State University President’s Council, Oklahoma Academy board and the Jenks Aquarium board.

Additional honors and awards for Mike Cooper include the Tulsa Community College, Outstanding Alumni Award ,2003 Enid Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year, the Rider Award and Enid, Oklahoma 2005 Walk of Fame Award.
