HOW YOU CAN HELP

When you read our Mission Statement, you can see the various ways EVERY ONE of our citizens can help in some form. Voluntarily bringing your property into compliance with Municipal Code is an example, and spreading the "word" would be another. These few simple actions help our mission. However, there are several main areas of concern in the success of our project. The "Key to Success" is community involvement!

Volunteer Group Cleanup and Assistance

We are going to need a large list of resources for helping indigent property owners. The waiting list is not that large currently, but I am projecting property owners in need of assistance will increase dramatically. The majority of customers do not know assistance is available. However, through Public Awareness, they are starting to realize help is available. Therefore, the need for Volunteer Group Effort is imperative. A "group" may be any organized effort: neighborhoods, friends, firefighters, police officers, teachers, mechanics, etc… It does not have to be community organizations, businesses, or civic clubs!

Community Development Support Association (CDSA) and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) have developed the Pride in Enid Assistance Program. However, these monies are limited and only to be used as a last resort. This stresses the need for group organization!

The Pride in Enid Promotional Fund was created April 29, 2003

This fund is strictly used for promotional purposes only! I solicited several local businesses for donations to create this fund. We are very limited on funds available for Public Awareness. At some point, I would like to generate enough funds to purchase support decals similar to the Chamber of Commerce. These decals would be given to supporters of the program to display their involvement. If you would like to donate to our fund, please make your check payable to the Enid Police Department, 301 W Owen K. Garriott, Enid, Oklahoma 73701.
