ENID, OK (September 14, 2011)- On Sept. 8, 2011, The City of Enid received top honors at the 3CMA Conference. The City of Enid took home the Savvy Award (first place) for Digital Interactive Overall Website. There were many entrants, but only three finalists. Other finalist included City of Richland, Wa, and City of Charlottesville, Va.
With over 700 city and county members from a number of governmental disciplines and functions, 3CMA is an organization aimed at connecting local government innovators to achieve the highest ideals of public service through the power of communications and marketing. The award was presented at their annual conference in Austin, Tx.
Comments from the 3CMA judges included:
- “Good site that provides useful tools for communication with residents.”
- “This site does a great job of showing that web traffic should be two-way, not one-way.”
Other praises from fellow finalists included applauding the City’s use of the live chat tool, mobile friendly layout and dynamic graphics.
“After so much hard work and preparation, it was wonderful to hear the positive comments from our fellow contemporaries in city and county government. They understand that our goal is to provide the best platform for communication between citizens and their government, “said City of Enid web developer Derrick Silas.
A steering committee from various City departments gave input on improvements and features that the new site needed to include.
“This was truly a team initiative where all departments gave input and brought unique ideas and suggestions to the table. I was proud to work with all those involved,” added Silas.
