The City of Enid Youth Job Corps was an annual eight week workshop geared toward exposing high school juniors and seniors to various departments and jobs within City government. Jason Orr, Operations Manager for the City of Enid's Public Works division, lead the eight week leadership course. Among their studies, Orr traveled to the Oklahoma City National Memorial with the students where they had an opportunity to hear from many of the First Responders who were involved with the rescue effort after the bombing.

"My intention is to expose them to many different aspects of municipal government so they will understand how integral each job is. Who knows, maybe we will be mentoring a future commissioner or public works director," said Orr.

The ten students chosen to take part in the eight week workshop include: Kevin Palmer, Kiandre Glasgow, Justin Tom, Ailey Ore, Jordan Cromwell, Delaney Jones, Bethzayda Estrada, Jose Hernandez, Tim Simmons and Andrea McMurry.
