Description: Reviews and makes recommendations to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners regarding development related issues.
Purpose: The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (MAPC) is responsible for reviewing and recommending to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners, various development proposals which include changes in zoning designation, subdivision plats, and site development plans. MAPC also reviews proposed changes to the development codes of the City, and establishes long-range development policies for the City and urbanized areas outside the City.
Qualifications: Nine members comprised of the following:
- Five members who, for a period of three years or more immediately preceding their appointment, are residents of Enid, and shall hold no other municipal office except those expressly provided for by state law;
- Four members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, who cannot be residents of any incorporated city or town.
Terms of Office: Three years.
