Listed below are the numerous boards and commissions of the City of Enid, and brief summaries to provide you with information on each board.  Appointments to these boards are made by the Mayor and Board of Commissioners, generally in February of each year.  Your participation in assuming an important community responsibility by serving on these boards is encouraged and welcomed.  For further information, please contact the City Clerk's Office at 580-616-7271, or lparks@enid.org.  The following advisory board applications are available and may be downloaded for your use:

911 Board of Enid and Garfield County    
Oversees the operations of the County-Wide 911 Enhanced Emergency Telephone System.

ADA Access Board
Advisory to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners with respect to Americans With Disability Act (ADA) accessibility issues.

Airport Advisory Board
Advisory to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners on matters relating to the planning and development of Enid Woodring Regional Airport, and airport operations.

Board of Adjustment
Hears appeals and makes recommendations to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners on zoning variances.

Community Development Block Grant Funding Commission
Makes recommendations and assists the Mayor and Board of Commissioners in allocating Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding.

Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals
Hears appeals of decisions and interpretations of the Code Official and considers variances of the technical codes.

Enid Joint Recreation Triad, Inc. (EJRT)
Coordinates athletic and recreational activities for the citizens, more specifically, the youth of Garfield County.

Enid Public Transportation Authority
Plans, finances and operates the public transportation system within Enid and areas immediately adjacent to its boundaries.

Fire Civil Service Commission
Carries into effect and enforces the provisions of the civil service laws of the Fire Department.  Provides uniformed fire employees with a quasi-judicial process for hearings on appeals concerning disciplinary actions, examination and testing, and other related issues, and enforces all rules for the classification, appointment and promotion of officers in the Department.

Historic Preservation Commission
Charged with establishing a local historic preservation program, integrating historic preservation into local, state and federal planning and decision-making processes, and identifying, evaluating and protecting historic resources in Enid.

Library Board
Reviews, develops and adopts library policies that affect patrons, public service, and the availability of services for residents throughout Garfield County.  Develops long-term planning for the library, including collection development, special programming, technology, infrastructure, and the Enid Foundation Library Endowment Fund.

Livestock Board
Makes recommendations to assist the Mayor and Board of Commissioners on matters relating to livestock.

Meadowlake Golf Course Advisory Board
Advisory to the City Commission on matters relating to the promotion and operation of Meadowlake Golf Course.

Metropolitan Area Planning Commission
Reviews and makes recommendations to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners regarding development related issues.

Park Board
Makes recommendations to and assists City staff in the planning and operation of all parks owned and operated by the City of Enid.

Police Civil Service Commission
Carries into effect and enforces the provisions of the civil service laws of the Police Department, and ascertains the merit and fitness of all persons seeking positions in the Enid Police Department.

Sister Cities International Board
Advisory to the City Commission on matters relating to international culture and educational exchange, global economic development, and tourism.

Special Sales Tax Oversight Committee
Oversees the expenditure of special sales tax revenues.

Tree Board
Created to develop a written plan for the care, preservation, planting, removal or disposition of trees and shrubs on public property, and to oversee the development and implementation of the Forestry Master Plan for Enid.

Vance Development Authority
Supports and undertakes all reasonable efforts to maintain and improve the relationship between the citizens of Enid and Northwest Oklahoma and military and civilian personnel engaged in the military mission(s) at Vance Air Force Base.
