Posted Date: 8/1/2012 4:30 PM

Dear Enid Resident,

Due to the ongoing drought, The City of Enid is taking additional precautions to ensure coPicture of Woman Watering Flowersnsistent delivery of water to all citizens and businesses. Effective immediately, the City is initiating Phase 2 of the “Conservation and Waste of Water”, ordinance No. 8-2-15.

No sprinkler systems or sprinklers are allowed. Outside watering is restricted to no more than one hour per day in accordance with the odd/even schedule of phase 1. Further, this schedule allows even numbered addressees to hand water on even numbered days. Odd day hand watering applies to those living at odd numbered addresses. Again, only hand held watering is allowed and Individuals must physically hold the hose while watering.

Failure to comply with the City’s ordinance to conserve water as described may result in a fine up to $100 for each day the ordinance is violated, plus costs. This ordinance does not apply to private wells; watering/sprinkling is still allowed by this method. Citizens are urged to identify their wells with easily visible and appropriate signage.

Please adhere to these restrictions. Enid has a long and rich history of facing up to challenges of any nature. If we cooperate as fellow citizens, this challenge will be similarly overcome.
