September is Library Card Sign Up Month

Post Date:08/27/2019 8:00 AM

ENID, OK (August 26, 2019) –

This September, the Enid Public Library is joining the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide for Library Card Sign-Up Month, a time to remind parents, caregivers, and students that a library card is the first step towards lifelong learning.

“Having a library card isn’t just about the ability to check-out books, although it’s a great part of it,” said Library Director, Jenny Regier. “A library card allows you to use the internet, use our databases, utilize our study rooms, and participate in any of our programs. We offer help learning technology and finding jobs. A library card can give you the world.”

This year, Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4” characters are serving as Honorary Chairs of Library Card Sign-Up Month. In their role, they will promote the value of a library card and bring attention to the many ways libraries transform lives and communities. Visit the library’s Facebook page daily at Facebook.com/EnidPublicLibrary to learn what a library card gives you free access to. A giveaway will also be going on from September 1-30. A new member who signs up for a library card in September will be eligible to win a bookstore gift card.

For more information about how to sign up for a library card, please visit the library’s website at Enid.OKPLS.org or call 580-234-6313. The Enid Public Library is located at 120 W Maine, Enid, OK 73701.
