Redevelopment Timelines Announced Regarding Lahoma Courts
ENID, OK (July 5, 2019) –
City Manager Jerald Gilbert expects signs of progress to become evident by the week of July 8, 2019 at the Lahoma Courts addition near the intersection of Cleveland and Owen K. Garriott. Gilbert said, "several permitting steps need to be completed before demolition of the area; however, I am pleased to report progress as redevelopment of this area gets underway."
City of Enid Public Relations staff reached out to Don Rose, Director of Construction & Facilities Management for the Hammer Williams Company for a timeline of activities.
“Next week we will start the process of installing a construction fence around the perimeter of the property and removing existing underground utilities. During the week of July 15, we expect to start mobilizing for demolition,” said Rose. Rose added, “Demolition should take around 45 days once started.”
The 18 acre redevelopment area located on the southeast corner of Owen K. Garriott and Cleveland is expected to be the site of a Jiffy Trip and eating establishments. According to Rose, street and utility design work is ongoing and will be submitted to the City next week for permits and approvals.
