ENID, OK (June 25, 2019) –
The City of Enid reminds residents and truck drivers to be mindful of the city’s truck route and its purpose.
- Infrastructure: Truck routes are designed to channel heavy traffic to roads more suitable and designed for truck traffic.
- Safety: Truck routes reduce accidents involving large trucks entering flowing traffic.
The primary truck routes include:
- U.S. Highway 81
- U.S. Highway 412
- U.S. Highway64
- Willow Road
- S 30th Street
- Purdue Avenue
- Breckenridge Road
- State Highway 45
Motorists should be mindful and alert to large trucks entering the highway and are urged to use extreme caution whenever entering and traveling on a primary truck route. Citizens should also be aware of police officers directing traffic in areas with a high volume of turning truck traffic, such as near grain elevator facilities.
