12 Week Citizenship Class
ENID, OK (March 3, 2019) –
The Enid Public Library will be hosting a 12-week Citizenship Class to help participants prepare for the Naturalization Test and interview.
“For many people, new to the US, libraries serve as a gateway to citizenship, English language learning, and civic engagement,” says the Oklahoma Department of Libraries website. “Libraries offer educational materials and training resources on immigration and citizenship. This complicated and lengthy naturalization process is made easier by the combined efforts of literacy programs and libraries in Oklahoma.”
These classes will begin March 13 at 4:30 PM and will meet every Wednesday evening through May 29.
The Enid Public Library received a $4,000 grant to provide the class as well as a Citizenship Corner. The Citizenship Corner is a dedicated space at the Enid Public Library that provides materials and informational resources on citizenship, the naturalization process, and other immigration-related topics.
This project was made possible by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries with funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. For more information about this project, visit the library’s website at enid.okpls.org or the Oklahoma Department of Libraries at libraries.ok.gov.
