Post Date:01/09/2019 8:00 AM

ENID, OK (January 9, 2019) –

This year the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission is honoring the life of civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with two events.

  • Saturday, January 12, 2019: City-wide Prayer Breakfast held in the Family Hall of the Central Assembly of God Church, located at 1202 Oxford Avenue at 8:00 am.
  • Saturday, January 19, 2019: March beginning at 2 p.m. and a Celebration Service at 2:30 p.m. at the Central National Bank Center.

The celebration service will include: inspirational speakers, motivational music, diversity awards, poster and essay contest prizes, food, and fellowship. The theme for this year’s events is a direct quote from Dr. King, “I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.”

Help us recognize and carry on the work of one of the world's most revered proponents of love, peace, justice, and equality.
