Kaw Lake Pipeline Project Phase III
ENID, OK (October 4, 2018) –
The Enid City Commission voted to approve Phase III of the Kaw Lake pipeline project during the October 2, 2018 council meeting.
According to Chris Gdanski, Director of Engineering for the city of Enid, Phase III will get underway in October and consist of completing the environmental review in preparation for attaining appropriate permits, completing survey work, acquiring the needed easements along the pipeline, and completing the design for all infrastructure projects. Gdanski added, “we will have identifiable crews in the field surveying with both drones and traditional methods.”
Construction is currently scheduled to begin in early 2020 and includes an Intake and Pump Station at Kaw Lake, approximately 70 miles of 36” raw water pipeline, a new Water Treatment Plant where we will treat the surface water and blend current ground water, and connections to Enid’s water distribution systems.
Gdanski said the proposed route of the pipeline will cross Osage, Kay, Noble, and Garfield counties. .
