Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad to Close Crossing at Chestnut Avenue

ENID, OK (March 15, 2017) -

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad has notified the City of Enid the crossing on Chestnut Avenue west of Van Buren will be closed beginning Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. Railroad officials said the crossing will be closed to allow for repairs during the next two days.

City of Enid officials remind motorists that Chestnut Avenue is currently closed just east of Cleveland Street. Therefore, access to all properties on Chestnut Avenue between the railroad tracks at Commercial Drive and Cleveland Street will be made via Johnson Street.

All through traffic on Chestnut Avenue should follow the detour route on Randolph Avenue from Cleveland Street to Van Buren as the Johnson Street to Chestnut Avenue will be utilized for local traffic only.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution in this construction area.
