Building Permit Process
Items needed to secure a building permit:
- PLOT PLAN: A drawing of the lot showing the dimensions of the lot and spotting any existing structures. This should show distances to all property lines and distance apart. This will also show where the proposed structure will be built.
- TYPICAL WALL SECTION: This drawing will show the size of the footing, foundation and floor. It will also show the wall, ceiling and roof construction.
- LEGAL: Legal description of the property.
- COST: Approximate cost of the construction, including labor and materials.
- CONTRACTORS: Name of plumbing contractor, if any. Name of electrical contractor, if any. Name of mechanical contractor, if any. Name of building contractor, if not owner. (If not owner, building contractor must be bonded with the City of Enid.)
- FLOOR PLAN: Floor plan of the proposed structure, showing the size, electrical, plumbing and mechanical, if any.
- NUMBER OF PLANS: Please provide two (2) complete copies of your plans. One copy will be returned to you when the building permit is issued.
NOTES:
- These drawings need not be to scale and can be on a tablet size sheet. They must be legible and the distances must be accurate.
- If the proposed location is in a flood plain a special permit is required before a building permit can be issued. Please contact the Engineering Department.
